Ongoing Workshops:
Remembering human-plant relationships

Description

What can plants teach us about living on this Earth? I am offering ongoing workshops featuring different medicinal plants that remind us of the human-plant relationships we co-evolved with.

Winter is a season of rest, recovery, and dreaming. What better guide to sow our dreams than Valerian?

After the first frost, Valerian shifts into its dormant state, concentrating its medicine, valerenic acid and GABA, to support deeper sleep and dreams. Valerian shows us how to embrace the process of wintering, orienting ourselves to a slower time characterized by visioning.

We will gather on the New Moon at Earthstar Farms, located at the StarHouse, weather pending. We have a backup location in Boulder, CO.

Maximum 8 people.

An afternoon to

-Meet Valerian & connect with its medicine for sleep

-Make tincture & tea to bring with you into winter

-Explore longer nights, rest, & dreaming

-Welcome the seasonal darkness

Agenda:

-We will flow between group and individual connection, including a mindfulness "sit" with Valerian.

-Discussions on the life cycle and medicine of Valerian; reflections on how we, too, can turn inward toward winter.

-Harvesting Valerian root, preparing tea and tincture.

-Welcoming the darkness as the afternoon turns to evening.

*Bring a journal and pen to take notes and write insights.
